Que sont les Assises Européennes de la Montagne?

Les Assises Européennes de la Montagne sont un événement majeur pour les acteurs montagnards européens. Cet événement est organisé par Euromontana dans une région montagneuse d’Europe tous les deux ans, en collaboration avec une organisation locale membre de l’association. Des acteurs clés sont invités à participer et les Assises rassemblent jusqu’à 400 participants de secteurs divers – représentants de la commission européenne, des ministères nationaux, entreprises locales, universités, agences de développement, etc.

Les Assises Européennes de la Montagne offrent la possibilité aux acteurs de la montagne d’élargir leur réseau, d’échanger des informations et des contacts et facilitent la recherche de partenaires. Depuis 1998 où les premières Assises se sont tenues à Ljubljana en Slovénie, ces rencontres montagnardes ont toujours été organisées avec grand succès.

Façonner l’avenir des économies de montagne

15 – 18 octobre 2024 | Puigcerdà – Catalogne

Organisé par Euromontana, le gouvernement de Catalogne et le CREAF, l’événement s’appuiera sur la vision 2050 pour les zones de montagne formulée lors des précédentes Assises Européennes de la Montagne qui se sont tenues en Calabre en 2022, et se concentrera sur la manière de rendre les économies de montagne plus durables, résilientes et prospères.

Les économies de montagne reposent sur des secteurs économiques qui sont le cœur battant des territoires de montagne, qui fournissent des emplois aux communautés locales et des services écosystémiques essentiels à la société entière, et qui sont souvent ancrés dans les identités et les valeurs territoriales. Cependant, ces chaînes de valeur sont confrontées à un certain nombre de défis économiques, sociaux et environnementaux, exacerbés par les contraintes géographiques des zones de montagne. Les XIIIèmes Assises Européennes de la Montagne seront l’occasion d’explorer et d’identifier des solutions et des voies pour surmonter certains de ces défis.

🧊 Glaciers matter for water, food and livelihoods in mountains and beyond. This is what we are highlighting this year on 11 December, International Mountain Day.Every year, this day provides an opportunity to emphasise the crucial importance of these areas in terms of natural resources, biodiversity, identity, cultural heritage, ways of life, and more resilient models.
