Les 10 actions de la Commission européenne pour stimuler la croissance et la cohésion dans les régions frontalières de l’Union européenne

La Commission européenne a publié une Communication sur comment surmonter les barrières et les obstacles pour améliorer la coopération transfrontalière, le 20 septembre 2017. Ses propositions principales ont été discutées lors de la conférence organisée par la DG Regio les 20 et 21 septembre 2017. Les présentations de la conférence sont disponibles ici.

Les régions transfrontalières couvrent 40% du territoire de l’UE, elles représentent près de 30% de la population avec 150 millions de personnes et elles produisent 30% du PIB de l’UE. Plusieurs régions transfrontalières sont aussi des zones de montagne. Ces régions transfrontalières accueillent presque 2 millions de navetteurs transfrontaliers, dont 1,3 millions sont des travailleurs transfrontaliers représentant 0,6% de toutes les personnes employées au sein de l’UE.
