Réseau pour la recherche européenne sur la montagne (NEMOR)

NEMOR est un réseau de chercheurs qui souhaite promouvoir la recherche et le développement durable des zones de montagnes. La thématique correspond très étroitement aux intérêts d’Euromontana, dont de nombreux organismes de recherche font partie. De même, Euromontana a été, et est toujours, impliquée dans de nombreux projets de recherche ; poursuivre cette implication est essentiel pour l’avenir d’Euromontana.

Contexte

Le Réseau pour la recherche européenne sur la montagne (Network for European Mountain Research – NEMOR) a été établi en 2017. Il s’appuie sur une étroite collaboration entre chercheurs de différentes disciplines et pays européens, notamment à travers des initiatives menées par le Mountain Research Initiative (MRI) et notamment dans le cadre de l’ancienne Alliance austro-suisse pour la recherche en montagne (CH-AT).

L’un des résultats clés de cette collaboration est l’Agenda stratégique de recherche « Des montagnes pour l’avenir de l’Europe », lancé à Bruxelles le 26 avril 2016. Cette déclaration préconise la nécessité de poursuivre et de promouvoir la recherche sur la montagne en Europe. Pour ce faire, les scientifiques impliqués dans cette initiative, ainsi que beaucoup d’autres de toute l’Europe, ont reconnu la nécessité d’une plateforme qui soutienne les initiatives de mise en réseau, offrant aux scientifiques entreprenant des recherches sur la montagne en Europe – ou qui sont intéressés à le faire – un point de référence commun.

NEMOR DREAM – Banc d’essai des montagnes européennes pour l’Europe face aux changements mondiaux

Le monde connaît d’importants changements sociaux, économiques et environnementaux. Des questions telles que « Quel rôle les montagnes peuvent-elles jouer pour surmonter les problèmes et défis futurs de l’humanité » ou « Quelles réponses la recherche en montagne peut-elle apporter ? Ce document a été réalisé par les membres du Réseau européen de recherche en montagne (NEMOR) pour présenter nos objectifs. Le document suggère que les principaux thèmes qui, selon nous, devraient être abordés d’urgence dans les années à venir sur la montagne devraient être encadrés dans les trois dimensions des ODD : environnementale, sociale et économique. Il propose également la création d’un partenariat mondial entre les scientifiques et les parties prenantes pour lancer des projets ayant une vision holistique du développement des montagnes et de l’adaptation au changement planétaire.

 

Objectifs clés

  • Promouvoir la recherche européenne sur la montagne, couvrant le spectre de la recherche fondamentale  à la recherche trandisciplinaire;
  • Engager la discussion sur les priorités de recherche concernant les régions de montagne, en particulier en relation avec la vision d’Euromontana;
  • Favoriser et connecter les réseaux de montagne et les partenariats inter/transfrontaliers ;Initier, coordonner et renforcer les activités en se référant aux thèmes prioritaires des « Montagnes pour l’avenir de l’Europe » en vue du nouveau programme de recherche de la Commission européenne (FP9) et d’autres instruments de financements ;
  • Reconnaître  les fonctions de la montagne pour l’Europe dans son ensemble et permettre des connexions avec les organisations et institutions pertinentes;
  • Servir de lien entre les sujets de montagne européens et mondiaux à l’appui de la vision du MRI .

 

Rencontres

La première réunion du NEMOR se tiendra au Forum Alpinum du 4 au 6 juin 2018 en Autriche.
