Une marque de montagne qui ravie les papilles, protège les fermiers locaux et apporte des fonds à des projets de soutiens aux montagnards

Le parrainage Coop pour les régions de montagne est une ONG suisse indépendante visant à aider les montagnards et les parties prenantes des zones de montagne à améliorer leurs conditions de vie et de travail. Créée dans les années 40, elle appartient au groupe coopératif « Coop », et est financée par des dons et par les cotisations des membres de Coop. En 2007, Coop a créé Pro Montagna, une marque durable dédiée aux produits de Montagne.

Pro Montagna certifie que ses yaourts, ses bières, son fromage ou sa viande ont été entièrement réalisés et transformés dans les montagnes suisses. En mangeant des produits authentiques, le consommateur se fait plaisir et soutient en même temps les chaînes d’approvisionnement de montagne. Ainsi, en Haute-Conches, à 1300 mètres d’altitude, environ 20 personnes travaillent à l’usine de pâtes Novena. Tous les ingrédients, y compris le fromage et les herbes, viennent des montagnes suisses. Ces pâtes sont mises en valeur et capable de survivre grâce à la marque Pro Montagna.

En outre, chaque fois qu’un produit Pro Montagna est acheté, une taxe est reversée à l’association Parrainage Coop pour les régions de montagne. Ainsi, en 2013, plus d’un million de francs suisses ont permis la création de près de 140 projets qui contribuent à la durabilité des activités des fermiers et producteurs de montagnes. C’est ainsi que la laiterie des alpages Hinter Trüttlisberg (le canton des Grisons) a pu survivre. En effet, l’une des cabanes où le fromage était fabriqué était obsolète et les 7 agriculteurs locaux travaillant dans ce pâturage n’avaient pas les moyens de la remplacer. Grâce à Coop parrainage et Pro Montagna, qui ont financé le nouveau chalet alpin, le fromage Hinter Trüttlisberg peut encore ravir nos papilles.
