Euromontana réélu au Comité de Pilotage du Partenariat de la Montagne

Euromontana a été réélu membre du Comité de Pilotage du Partenariat de la Montagne – l’alliance des Nations Unies dédiée aux zones de montagne dans le monde. L’élection a eu lieu le 29 septembre, lors de la sixième réunion mondiale du Partenariat de la Montagne qui s’est tenue du 26 au 29 septembre 2022 à Aspen (États-Unis).

Comme ce fut déjà le cas lors du mandat 2017-2021, Euromontana sera représenté dans ce Comité de Pilotage par Simao Pinho, membre du Comité Directeur d’Euromontana et de l’organisation portugaise CIMO – Centre de Recherche sur la Montagne. L’Alliance des Alpes Albanaises est suppléante.

Il s’agit d’un mandat important pour Euromontana pour porter la voix des montagnes européennes sur la scène internationale et aux Nations Unies, mais aussi pour apprendre des autres territoires de montagne hors d’Europe.

Au cours de la réunion, la Déclaration d’Aspen a également été adoptée par les membres du Partenariat de la Montagne – elle appelle à davantage de coopération pour le développement durable des montagnes, la protection de l’environnement, l’inclusion sociale, les services aux communautés et le partage des connaissances.

Today, Euromontana had the pleasure to take part in the journalist training course “Transizione ecologica nelle aree montane: biodiversità, cambiamento climatico e sviluppo sostenibile”, organised by Università della Montagna with the Ordine dei Giornalisti della Lombardia (the Lombardy Association of Journalists 📰)The course, bringing together 65+ participants, focused on how to better understand and report on ecological transition in mountain areas, from biodiversity and climate change to sustainable development ⛰️👉This matters because the way mountain areas are reported shapes the way they are understood and, ultimately, the way they are governed!We were pleased to join our member UNIMONT in this exchange. Prof. Anna Giorgi highlighted the need to change the way mountain areas are perceived, beyond fragility and marginality. Stefano Sala then showed how issues such as depopulation, winter tourism, climate change and public policy require a more nuanced reading of mountain realities 🔍 For Euromontana, Guillaume Corradino brought a European perspective to the discussion.
