La révision des régimes d’Indications Géographiques: quels changements pour les produits agricoles et non agricoles ?

En mai 2020, la Commission européenne a publié sa stratégie  » De la ferme à la table « , qui visait à proposer un système alimentaire équitable, sain et respectueux de l’environnement. Parmi les mesures annoncées dans cette Stratégie figurait l’intention de la Commission de réviser le régime des Indications Géographiques. Un tiers des IG dans l’Union Européenne sont produites dans les zones de montagne et ces labels sont d’une importance particulière pour les chaînes de valeur régionales des montagnes.

Sur la base des discussions du Groupe de Dialogue Civil « Qualité et Promotion » du 5 novembre 2020, et de la conférence de la DG AGRI « Renforcer les Indications Géographiques » des 25 et 26 novembre 2020, cet article présente les premiers éléments connus de la réforme des IG, y compris pour les IG non agricoles. Today, Euromontana had the pleasure to take part in the journalist training course “Transizione ecologica nelle aree montane: biodiversità, cambiamento climatico e sviluppo sostenibile”, organised by Università della Montagna with the Ordine dei Giornalisti della Lombardia (the Lombardy Association of Journalists 📰)The course, bringing together 65+ participants, focused on how to better understand and report on ecological transition in mountain areas, from biodiversity and climate change to sustainable development ⛰️👉This matters because the way mountain areas are reported shapes the way they are understood and, ultimately, the way they are governed!We were pleased to join our member UNIMONT in this exchange. Prof. Anna Giorgi highlighted the need to change the way mountain areas are perceived, beyond fragility and marginality. Stefano Sala then showed how issues such as depopulation, winter tourism, climate change and public policy require a more nuanced reading of mountain realities 🔍 For Euromontana, Guillaume Corradino brought a European perspective to the discussion.
