Le Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment lance une enquête sur la biodiversité et le bien-être humain dans les montagnes

Le Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment (GMBA), plateforme de collaboration internationale et interdisciplinaire dans les domaines de l’évaluation, la conservation, et l’utilisation durable de la biodiversité en montagne, effectue une première évaluation générale de l’état et des tendances de la biodiversité, des services écosystémiques, et du bien-être humain dans les montagnes du monde, ainsi que des relations entre ces différents éléments.

Cette enquête fait partie d’un projet intitulé « Toward biodiversity-related opportunities for sustainable development – a global social-ecological mountain comparison » lancé en janvier 2018. Pour cette évaluation globale, des analyses seront effectuées au niveau des chaînes ou sous-chaînes de montagnes.

Pour participer à l’enquête et partager vos connaissances sur le(s) système(s) socio-écologique(s) de montagne sur lequel(s) vous travaillez, cliquez ici.

Le questionnaire comprend à la fois des questions de sciences naturelles et de sciences sociales, qui peuvent aller au-delà de votre domaine d’expertise. Il est disponible en anglais, français et espagnol et dure environ 40 minutes.

La date limite pour répondre à l’évaluation est le 31 mai 2018

Today, Euromontana had the pleasure to take part in the journalist training course “Transizione ecologica nelle aree montane: biodiversità, cambiamento climatico e sviluppo sostenibile”, organised by Università della Montagna with the Ordine dei Giornalisti della Lombardia (the Lombardy Association of Journalists 📰)The course, bringing together 65+ participants, focused on how to better understand and report on ecological transition in mountain areas, from biodiversity and climate change to sustainable development ⛰️👉This matters because the way mountain areas are reported shapes the way they are understood and, ultimately, the way they are governed!We were pleased to join our member UNIMONT in this exchange. Prof. Anna Giorgi highlighted the need to change the way mountain areas are perceived, beyond fragility and marginality. Stefano Sala then showed how issues such as depopulation, winter tourism, climate change and public policy require a more nuanced reading of mountain realities 🔍 For Euromontana, Guillaume Corradino brought a European perspective to the discussion.
