Euromontana, Association européenne pour les zone de montagne, France

Euromontana est l’association multisectorielle pour la coopération et le développement des zones de montagne. La mission d’Euromontana est de promouvoir des montagnes vivantes, le développement intégré et durable et la qualité de vie dans les zones de montagne, en facilitant l’échange d’expériences, en menant et en collaborant à des études et des projets et en travaillant avec les institutions européennes sur les questions concernant les montagnes. La mobilité durable est un enjeu important pour les habitants des montagnes : des solutions de transport sont nécessaires pour assurer l’accès à des services tels que les magasins, l’éducation, les soins médicaux, etc.

Dans MOG, Euromontana est responsable de la communication. Euromontana coordonne les actions effectuées par tous les partenaires pour diffuser l’information sur le projet et les résultats obtenus. Euromontana assure la promotion du projet vers les communautés de montagne grâce à son réseau. Avec son siège à Bruxelles, Euromontana va également communiquer les résultats de MOG aux institutions de l’UE.

Today, Euromontana had the pleasure to take part in the journalist training course “Transizione ecologica nelle aree montane: biodiversità, cambiamento climatico e sviluppo sostenibile”, organised by Università della Montagna with the Ordine dei Giornalisti della Lombardia (the Lombardy Association of Journalists 📰)The course, bringing together 65+ participants, focused on how to better understand and report on ecological transition in mountain areas, from biodiversity and climate change to sustainable development ⛰️👉This matters because the way mountain areas are reported shapes the way they are understood and, ultimately, the way they are governed!We were pleased to join our member UNIMONT in this exchange. Prof. Anna Giorgi highlighted the need to change the way mountain areas are perceived, beyond fragility and marginality. Stefano Sala then showed how issues such as depopulation, winter tourism, climate change and public policy require a more nuanced reading of mountain realities 🔍 For Euromontana, Guillaume Corradino brought a European perspective to the discussion.
