From the 4th to 6th November, will be held the Second European Rural Parliament (ERP) in the small town of Schärding in Austria.
The European Rural Parliament is a long-term campaign to express the voice of rural people in Europe. It has been co-initiated by the European Rural Community Alliance, PREPARE Partnership for Rural Europe and European LEADER Association for Rural Development. For more details about the European Rural Parliament campaign, please visit their website.
The European Rural Parliament aims to:
- To strengthen the voice of the rural communities of Europe, and to ensure that the interests and well-being of these communities are strongly reflected in national and European policies
- To promote self-help, common understanding, solidarity, exchange of good practice and cooperation among rural communities throughout Europe.
The First European Rural Parliament took place in Brussels in 2013 with the active participation of Euromontana. You will find here the item of news that had been published about the event.
The campaign of the Second European Rural Parliament was launched in January 2015 and involved many actors from several countries across Europe. From the 4th to 6th November 2015 will be held the ERP 2015 Gathering to close up the campaign. As outcome of the event, the European Rural Manifesto and supporting Report will be published and used to influence European Institutions and national and regional governments in their attitudes to, and policies for, rural communities.
