The territories of the Alpine Region are characterized by a great social, economic, cultural and linguistic variety, which generate different traditions and governance models.
These specificities of the Alpine area and their variety require an active interregional cooperation process within the European Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP).
The Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialization (RIS3) are a useful tool to promote collaboration between science and governance on strategic issues for the development of local territories.
In recent years, they have become essential to guarantee growth driven by place-based innovation, capable of strengthening regional competitiveness by transforming local assets into innovation drivers.
The workshop will be a moment of discussion on the current and future challenges of governance, highlighting regional initiatives in the field of the circular economy and digital transformation, highlighting the work done by the EUSALP action groups in promoting a sustainable and competitive ecosystem in the Alpine region.
