Cambio Via is a project funded by the PC Italia Francia Marittimo 2014-2020. It aims to promote an economic model for rural areas based on its social and environmental values; to enhance traditional products, places of production and connected itineraries, to favour their positioning on the markets; to relaunch local communities from a cultural, economic and social point of view, in order to guarantee the ecosystem value of quality local products and services.
The enhancement of the ancient routes of transhumance will favour the achievement of the set objectives, also thanks to the recognition of the civilization of transhumance as a UNESCO intangible heritage.
In this context, the international conference entitled “From transhumance to sheep farming schools” aims to build a network of subjects who, through the enhancement of traditional know-how, are able to bring pastoralism into the future trying to create a bridge between generations, so as not to lose the richness of the knowledge of the past and at the same time enrich it through innovation and dialogue, strongly representing and supporting the needs of the sector at European level.
Carla Lostrangio, from Euromontana, will be discussing the future of pastoralism in Europe and presenting some challenges, opportunities and recommendations.
