The Euromontana member, Centre for Mountain Studies at Perth College, University of the Highlands & Islands, in collaboration with the Mountain Research Initiative (MRI) and the Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment (GMBA), is organising a third conference ‘Mountains of Our Future Earth’.

This conference is expected to be a contribution to the global Future Earth programme, a 10-year international research initiative that will develop the knowledge for responding effectively to the risks and opportunities of global environmental change and supporting transformation towards global sustainability in the coming decades.

The main objectives of this conference are:

  • To present, evaluate and synthesise progress in our understanding of global change in mountain regions
  • To refine and agree agendas for collaborative research and action relating to global change and mountain regions
  • To foster effective interdisciplinary and international interactions between participants: researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers.
