Portuguese seminar on Common Agricultural Policy and Mountains


logo_portugal_pacA seminar on the Common Agricultural Policy and Mountains will take place on the 18th of July 2014, in Bragança (Portugal). This seminar is organised by the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, a Higher Education Public Institution with the mission of creating, transmitting and diffusing technical-scientific and professional knowledge, and CIMO, a Mountain Research Center. ADVID, ADRAT and AJAP will also participate in the organisation of the event.

The Portuguese Minister of Agriculture will open this seminar, which will address how to make the most of the new CAP’s instruments from mountain stakeholders’ perspective, with special regard to the optional quality term “Mountain Product” (Reg. (EC) 1151/2012). In the morning the tools of the new CAP will be presented, followed by discussions on innovation, territorial approach to supply chain development and marketing approaches tools for quality & traceability, in the afternoon.

This event is part of the new information measure « A new CAP: Mountains of opportunities » coordinated by Euromontana and co-financed by the European Union. Within this framework, 5 seminars are organised by several Euromontana’s members in France, Italy, Slovenia, Romania and Portugal in order to prepare the European Mountain Convention that will take place at the end of October in Bilbao (Spain).
