More than 320.000 responses at the public consultation on the future CAP

The online public consultation on “Modernising and Simplifying the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)” closed on May 2nd 2017. The European Commission received more than 320.000 responses from all 28 EU countries. Among these, 45,5% came from Germany, 12,51% from France and 7,67% from Spain.

The consultation process aimed to debate with all types of stakeholders, including non-agricultural actors on how to simplify and modernize the CAP.
An initial analysis suggests that the Commission received replies from individual citizens, national, regional and local public authorities and organisations representing a wide spectrum of stakeholders. In total, 1.417 position papers were submitted. Euromontana also submitted its position (read Euromontana’s position here – in French )

A full analysis of the responses is now being undertaken and the initial results will be presented at a public conference in Brussels on 7th July 2017.
