Discover about EU funds and tools in the Skillnet Booklet!

The Assembly of European Regions has recently published the booklet “Unboxing the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2017”. This booklet aims to guide regional authorities and actors across the cohesion and rural development funds. Unboxing the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027

 

During this year, the Assembly of European Regions (AER) organised three webinars to provide an overview on the EU funding system and programmes over the 2021-2027 period. These webinars, attended by more than 300 participants, provided an overview on the cohesion and rural development funds, several direct funding programmes as well as tools and instruments to access funds and make them useful for regions. Following the high interest of regions and regional stakeholders for the training webinars, AER published a user-friendly booklet to guide regions and their stakeholders in getting oriented throughout the resources available and how to access them.

What can you find in the Skillnet booklet?

The Booklet contains an overview of the cohesion policy and rural development funds as well as a pitch of the main EU programmes such as Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, Creative Europe, Digital Europe, LIFE, AMIF, Single Market Programme, EU4Health, Justice Rights and Values Fund, Connecting Europe Facilities. Additionally, a specific section is dedicated to EU tools and training for administrative capacity building made available by the European Commission to help civil servants and stakeholders to increase their skills in topics such as administrative capacity, mutual learning and exchange of practices, prevention of mismanagement, fraud and corruption.

What is the Assembly of European Regions?

Established in 1985, the Assembly of European Regions (AER) is the largest independent network of regions in wider Europe, gathering over 130 member regions from 30 different countries – from Norway to Turkey and from Georgia to Portugal. The network supports regions to improve their policies and practices on all topics relevant to regional policy making by providing a space for experience exchange and policy learning.

What is the Skillnet project ?

In many regions, one of the main challenges is the skills mismatch between the industry and the workforce, which this project aims to address. Co-financed by the Erasmus+ programme, Skillnet  comes from the identification of challenges and problems for Vocational Education and Training systems. The Skillnet project aims to establish and reinforce cross-network collaboration and cross-border networking and partnerships capacity of Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers, public authorities and policymakers. In addition, Skillnet aims to build the effective presence of these actors at a policy level, to ensure the effective implementation of EU programmes and to promote work-based learning while stimulating innovation and entrepreneurship.
