Mountain walk in Croatia: discover how Cohesion Policy supports Vesna
In Croatia, local schools can benefit from numerous opportunities thanks to the European Cohesion Policy. Vesna is an imaginary character created by Montana174 project, whose intention is to showcase real projects financed by the 2014-2020 Cohesion Policy for schoolteachers and his/her classrooms in mountain areas.
Discover with her from what initiatives local citizens can benefit in her mountain area:
1. Energy renovation of school buildings
The Ivan Goran Kovačić Vrbovsko elementary school was renovated to improve its energy efficiency, together with other 7 school buildings in the Croatia as part of the “”Energy renovation of school buildings of Primorje Gorski Kotar County” project.
2. Supporting students with disability
Teaching assistants were hired to support special needs students in the school. The aim is to enable these students to participate in the educational process on an equal basis with other students and thus prevent their discrimination on the basis of disability.
3. Kupa Natura project
The Kupa Natura project was aimed to preserve and help local citizens to discover the natural well-being of the river Kupa. It was organised a numerous educational workshops and volunteering camps with local stakeholders, including schools.
