Local and regional authorities face many obstacles in accessing funds to finance climate action (whether it be adaptation or mitigation), both from public and private sources. Within this context, the Committee of The Regions, Commission for the Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE), organised a conference on « Financing climate action: opportunities and challenges for local and regional authorities » on 19 September 2017. The event addressed the issue of how to create an enabling environment for climate finance at the local and regional levels. All the presentations of the event are available here.
