The European innovation Partnership in Agricultural productivity and Sustainability (EIP AGRI) has launched the 8th July a new call for experts to create three new Focus Groups (FG).
EIP-AGRI focus groups are temporary groups of selected experts focusing on a specific subject, and sharing knowledge and experience. Each group explores practical innovative solutions to problems or opportunities in the field, and draws on experience derived from related useful projects. Focus groups are expected to work for 12-18 months and will meet face-to-face twice a year.
The new Focus Groups will be on:
- Optimising the profitability of crop production through Ecological Focus Areas
- Innovative Short Food Supply Chain management:
- IPM practices for soil-borne diseases suppression in arable crops, both in greenhouse and open field
The Focus Group on Innovative Short Food Supply Chain management will focus on how to stimulate growth of short food supply chains in Europe, both in terms of numbers of producers involved and volume traded, in order to increase farm income. This group is especially interesting for mountains as the competitiveness of short food supply chains is a concern shared in most of the mountain areas. The new optional quality term “mountain product” reinforces the strategic importance of having experts in this group to voice mountain interests in this field.
Candidates must be actual experts and fluent in English. The experts need to complete the on-line application form and submit it by 8 September 2014 at 24:00 (Brussels time).
