Neu.Land.Leben joins Euromontana!

The Austrian organisation Neu.Land.Leben was founded in May 2021 with the objective to bring together people from cities and rural areas. The organisation was initiated after the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. Many people from urban areas looked for an opportunity to leave their home and go to a more rural area. Yet, the opportunities offered by our rural regions also brought up some conflicts between the urban and rural population, in particular regarding the use of agricultural land. Local policymakers noticed that there is a rural-urban divide and Neu.Land.Leben will bring support and communication efforts with the aim to prevent conflicts.

Austria is an Alpine country and Neu.Land.Leben is located in Lower Austria, where most of the territory is rural and mountainous. The organisation aims at improving the quality of life in this rural area and at sustaining the region’s landscape. Neu.Land.Leben wants to develop rural areas both as leisure areas and areas with a good quality of life for residents. For this reason, the organisation wants to exchange information with other international organisations willing to improve the quality of life in mountain areas and rural regions.

The organisation’s chairman is Alexander Bernhuber. He is a Member of the European Parliament as well as a farmer and was born in Lower Austria. Neu.Land.Leben wants to learn from other countries and organisations, other Euromontana members are thus invited to get in touch. For any questions, you can contact Elisabeth Kern, Managing Director of Neu.Land.Leben, and follow the organisation on social media:
