At the request of the Irish presidency, the Committee of the Regions is drawing up concrete proposals on how to increase European innovativeness and close innovation gaps. The objective under this mandate is to submit proposals on:
- measures required from the regions and all their various players, and
- measures required under EU Commission programmes, funding and other activities.
The draft report is now available on-line and so is the presentation of key messages. Ancuta Pasca from Euromontana secretariat has participated a the presentation of the report on 21st of February. She stressed the importance of social innovation existent in mountain areas in the acceptation of new ideas and the shortage of innovation process from ideas to market, as well as on the importance of regional innovation and research centers.
