The conference ‘Future of wood processing industries and forestry in South Eastern Europe (SEE) countries’ organised by the Croatian Wood Cluster (Hrvatski Drvni Klaster) took place on the 15th July 2015. The conference gathered wood practitioners from the SEE countries and especially trade organisations and processing companies. European Union (EU) organisations linked to the wood and forestry sectors were also present. The aim of the conference was to present to EU institutions the forest–based sector of the SEE region and some investment projects and funding opportunities for the companies. The conference was organised following the need for funding of the wood–based sector in SEE countries to increase competitiveness at EU level.
