A new European comparator tool on large carnivore’s management

The EU Large Carnivore Platform is a grouping of European stakeholders regularly meeting to discuss issues related to coexistence between humankind and larges carnivores. In January 2020, the platform launched a new online comparative tool.

The map provides various information on large carnivore management measures in each EU country, such as:

  • Existing prevention and compensation schemes
  • Involved stakeholder’s platforms
  • Competent authorities on the topic

The information currently available is resulting from past meetings between the EU Large Carnivores Platform and experts, mostly scientists and managing authorities, as well as from official EU documentation on the issue.

The map will be updated on a regular basis to include the latest changes. If you would like to provide more information on your country, please contact the platform’s Secretariat.

For more information on the activities of the EU Large Carnivores Platform, you can refer to their recent case studies and subscribe to their newsletter.
