Alpine Space Programme: first call of proposals will be launched on 25th February

Following the official adoption of the Operational Programme for the Alpine Space Programme on 17th December 2014, this programme is about to launch its first call for proposals.

The terms of reference have already been published. The official call will be open on 25th February for a first-step submission on 10th April 2015. Indeed, this call for proposal follows a two-steps application procedure. Projects, that will be invited to step two, will have to submit their complete proposal for 25th September 2015.

Applicants are invited to contact the Alpine Space contact points or the joint secretariat for clarifications or informal feedbacks on their project ideas before applying.

This first call will cover 3 out of 4 priorities, namely:
– Priority 1 “Innovative Alpine Space”: to improve the framework conditions for innovation in the Alpine Space and to increase capacities for the delivery of services of general in a changing society
– Priority 2 “Low Carbon Alpine Space” to establish trans-nationally integrated low carbon policy instruments and to increase options for low carbon mobility and transport.
– Priority 3 “Liveable Alpine Space” to sustainably valorise Alpine Space cultural and natural heritage and to enhance the protection, the conservation and the ecological connectivity of Alpine Space ecosystems.

A call for projects under Priority 4: Well-Governed Alpine Space will open separately in the second half of 2015.

The Alpine Space programme supports projects that are dedicated to one of the three stages of the policy cycle: strategic policy development, explorative and piloting activities and policy implementation.

The minimum number of participants is four, coming from at least three different Partners States. The size of partnership shall not exceed a total of 15 project participants, including the lead partner and non-EU partners.

Partners in the following regions are eligible: Austria (whole country), France: Alsace, Franche-Comté, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Rhône-Alpes, Germany: districts of Oberbayern and Schwaben (in Bavaria), Tübingen and Freiburg (in Baden-Württemberg), Italy: Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Lombardia, Piemonte, Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano/Bozen, Provincia Autonoma di Trento, Valle d’Aosta, Veneto, Liechtenstein (whole country), Slovenia (whole country) and Switzerland (whole country).

The duration of projects must not exceed 36 months and are expected to start in December 2015.
