To maximise benefits for citizens, the European Cohesion’s 6th report on Economic, Social and Territorial Cohesion focuses on energy efficiency, employment, social inclusion and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). In addition, it meets one of the objectives of the 2020 strategy by “creating jobs and reducing disparities across Europe”.
The report takes stock of the territorial Cohesion Policy: it analyses the state of cohesion in the European Union (EU) and shows how Cohesion Policy has helped Member States facing the decline of public investment, by “injecting resources and creating vital stability”.
For the 2014-2020 period, more than €38 billion will be invested in energy efficiency and renewables and up to €33 billion will be put on the table to help SME’s in becoming more competitive.
Besides, a data platform has been created in order to evaluate the performance of EU funding schemes: it provides information about the investment made and the results obtained. Click here to explore the Cohesion Policy Open data Platform.
