Encourage smart and innovative mountain regions

Our member Sogn og Fjordane County Municipality has had one of their employees – Lars Hustveit –  based in Brussels since April 2016.  He has during this time partly done work for Euromontana and partly for his County.

He has successully submitted an Interreg Europe proposal PP-Iris logo-IRIS that will start in January 2017 where several members of Euromontana are directly involved: in addition of Sogn og Fjordane County Council, Heart of Slovenia, PINS, Poliedra and Sodebur will work on professionalising their management of innovation networks and innovation tools to have more innovative and smart rural areas.  Read the article written in English here (only for our members).

The process of Smart Specialisation should benefit to mountain areas, not only to the most urban areas. In order to better understand how the cooperation could be reinforced between the regions based on the common points of their Smart Specialisation Strategies, Lars has explored how the new platforms (more specifically the one on energy) could be usesul for a region, as his own Norwegian region of Sogn og Fjordane. Read the article written in English here (only for members).
