The legislative proposals for Horizon Europe, the research and innovation programme which will follow Horizon 2020, have been published. With an increase budget from €70 billion to € 100 billion, this programme maintains a lot of stability with the current Horizon 2020 programme and puts the emphasis on impact and further exploitation of the results.
The Commission has published in June its proposals for the new Horizon Europe programme for 2021-2027. It follows the Communication “A renewed European Agenda for Research and Innovation – Europe’s chance to shape its future” published the month before. This article aims at underlining the main changes between the current Horizon 2020 programme and these new legislative proposals that will be officially adopted only after a codecision procedure between the Council and the European Parliament.
