How can I become a Silver Tourism expert?

Euromontana is part of an Erasmus + project called “Silver Tourism” which started in October 2015 and will end next October. This project aims to provide the necessary training for the tourism sector to take advantage of the opportunities created by the demographic trend, developing products and services tailored to the real needs of elderly people.

The main output of the project, the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), is an e-learning tool for tourism experts to better understand the needs of silver tourists and design adequate products for them. The MOOC was launched on 1 June 2017.

The MOOC is available on the Silver Tourism project website, in the Results section: http://www.silvertourism.eu/en/results. You will need to create a profile to log in (for free). The MOOC is then divided into 5 units with a small quiz to complete between each unit to move on to the next one.

The 5 units are the following:

  • Understanding the needs of silver- age tourists and accompanying peoples
  • Designing Silver Tourism Products and Services
  • Silver Marketing Tourism Products and Services
  • Developing local/ regional Silver Tourism Destination
  • Assurance and improvement of Silver Tourism Services

The final conference of the project will be held in Brussels on 19 October 2017, we hope to see you there. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any feedback on the MOOC or good practices to disseminate in the field of silver tourism!
