The LEADER sub-committee of the European NEtwork for Rural development was meeting on 11-12 november 2013 in Brussels to take stock on LEADER implementation in the current programming period, where 2400 LAGs have been created, on perspectives for the coming programming period, and to discuss possibilities for funding of LAGs, local development strategies and LEADER projects in the next programming period.
The meeting addressed novelties such as transition rules between the two programming periods, the multi-fund approach, the possible use of simplified cost options in EAFRD, or the possibility to claim costs related to voluntary work. Elements on advance payments were also addressed. Several managing authorities presented innovative approaches allowing the simplify management of small-scale projects such as “umbrella projects”. Possibilities around crowd funding have also been explored. Euromontana will assemble a report on content in the coming weeks, building if possible on the summaries of the meeting which will be prepared by ENRD.
