In the 2014-2020 period, the Europe for Citizens programme financed over 2,500 projects on citizen engagement, participation and understanding of EU history, values, and diversity with a total portfolio of approximately € 187 million.
In the 2021-2027 period, the Europe for Citizens programme will be replaced by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme (CERV). This article presents main features of the new CERV programme, as well as the types of activities it can finance in rural and mountainous areas.
