MOG: The Provincial Government of Teruel is transferring Good Practices!

Provincial Government of Teruel made a bilateral visit in Hungary, on 30th October 2013 to learn more about the Good Practices developed by partner 7 Central Transdanubian Region Innovation Agency (CTRIA). The interest was focused on two Good Practices: “Village care taker” and the “Mobile postal service”.

After the visit, the Provincial Government of Teruel gave a grant to the village “Mezquita de Jarque” for buying a van that allow three students to continue living in their village and attending the school in another village after the closure of theirs school because they were less than six students. The objective is now to open this service to disabled people, elderly people and children when they need to go to the hospital or school: this experience is clearly transferred from the Hungarian Good Practice. Nowadays, thanks to this solution, a family is still living in the village and one civil servant, the driver of the van, has increased his hours of service and has more work: this is an achievement for local population.

To further implement sustainable mobility, the Provincial Government of Teruel wishes to encourage politicians to create a round table on transport to encourage more sustainable public transport in this vast and depopulated area. This should be done taking into account the example of Auvergne region (France), other Good Practice from MOG, where all the transport authorities have worked together for a better delivery of transport services on their territory.

Please find the article Diaro de Teruel explaining how the Provincial Government is doing concrete transfer of the Good Practices learnt in MOG project (article only in Spanish).
