The European Commission published in July 2021 the new EU Forest Strategy, repealing the 2013 one and setting new objectives towards 2030. Although long overdue, as the last Forest Strategy ended in 2020, the new Commission’s Communication on forests is published in a new context as part of the wider Green Deal. This article (for members only) details how this Strategy will be implemented and how it will affect mountain areas.
