Open Days 2015

The 13th edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities (Open Days 2015) takes place on 12-15 October 2015 in Brussels, Belgium. Participation is free of charge. Registration for Brussels-based seminars is open until 28 September. Click here to register.

The Open Days is an annual four-day event jointly organised by the EU Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) It is an event during which officials from regions and cities’ administrations, as well as experts and academics, can exchange good practices and know-how in the field of regional and urban development. The event was created in 2003 and over the years, has grown into the key event on EU Regional Policy. The event will be structured around three thematic priorities:

  • ‘Modernising Europe’: The regions in the energy Union and the single digital market
  • ‘Regions open for business’: SME development, innovation and job creation
  • ‘Places and spaces’: Urban and rural development; urban-rural integration

This event is not only focused on urban issues, there are several sessions that could be of interest for Euromontana members, such as the one on the Alpine Macro-strategy (EUSALP), several sessions on the Interreg Europe Programme, on Smart Development for Rural areas or on Silver Tourism. Discover here the full programme of the events.
