Questionnaire for youth in the mountains

In October 2012, 300 elected members and representatives of the mountain areas gathered in Chambéry for the VIIIth European Mountain Convention held on the subject of youth in the mountains. Their discussions, ambitions and actions are summarised in the Declaration of Chambéry : “Youth to the top: the mountain path to the future”.

One of the demands expressed in Chambéry was to contribute with the networking among the organisations involving youth in the mountains and to facilitate the exchange of good practices. The following objectives have been set:

  • To analyse the different forms of representing young people in the mountain communities.
  • To organise a debate about the efficiency of the different forms of representation
  • To facilitate and improve the good practices exchange
  • To help young leaders, within different fields, to establish long and lasting links aimed at the exchange of opinions and solutions, for example through an online platform.

This questionnaire is a first step to better target the specific needs of the actors and young people living in mountain areas.
