RUMRA, has opened a consultation process on Energy and Climate Change in rural, mountainous and remote areas

RUMRA, the European parliament Intergroup on Rural, Mountainous and Remote Areas, in which Euromontana is one of the three main promoter organisations, has launched a consultation on Energy and Climate Change in rural, mountainous and remote areas.

The main objective of this consultation is to get some feedback from stakeholders on current energy situation in rural, mountainous and remote areas in Europe, as well as potential solutions to the existing challenges. The consultation aims at identifying measures and opportunities to achieve a more comprehensive energy policy that ensures benefits in terms of access to energy for rural communities.

This consultation includes three different topics:

– Local energy for local people
– Smart rural buildings
– Community empowerment

The deadline for receiving the answers to this consultation is the 26th May 2015
