The green architecture of the CAP: challenges and threats for mountain areas

A CAP reform usually means a reform of the green architecture of the CAP and the post-2020 reform is no exception. Even more so, as one of the general objectives for the next CAP is to “enhance environmental care and climate action and to contribute to the environmental- and climate-related objectives of the Union”.

Euromontana was invited to participate in two round tables organised by DG AGRI on the matter. Two main objectives were firstly, to identify the opportunities and challenges of this new green architecture, and secondly, to build management measures within this new structure to increase the environmental sustainability of the CAP. The results of this process fed into the discussion of a special joint meeting between the Civil Dialogue Group “Environment and Climate Change” and the expert group including representatives from DG AGRI, CLIMA and ENVI for horizontal questions on February 25th, 2019.

In the context of the current CAP reform, Euromontana analysed the challenges and threats of the CAP post-2020 green architecture for mountain areas, read the full article (available for members).
