The study “labelling of agricultural and food products of mountain farming”, carried out by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (IPTS), was published on February 1st, 2013. This research project on mountain food supply chains explores options on regulating the use of the term “mountain product” now protected at European level by the regulation 1151/2012, which entered into force on January 3rd, 2013.
This study will serve as a useful basis to the European Commission during the setting of derogations from the rules of origin concerning animal feed and stages of processing.
