Think European, act local: the role of regions in the EU youth strategy

The 12 of November 2013, the conference “Think European – act local: the role of federal states and regions in the EU youth strategy” to talk about the EU youth strategy was developed by the Committee of the Regions in Brussels. The conferenceprovide an opportunity to discuss the EU youth strategy and its contribution to Europe’s broader growth strategy Europe 2020. The Conference started by an opening session, followed by parallel workshops on the next topics:

  • The cross-sectorial dimension of youth policy
  • Contribution of youth work to combating social exclusion and poverty
  • Structural dialogue and local participation
  • Instruments and scope of action for the regions in the EU Youth Strategy

The event was closed with a discussion session on how to strengthen the involvement of young people in the policies at European level and on the challenges of the regions in building a European future for young people.
