Following the report of the MEP Virginie Rozière on ‘the possible extension of geographical indication protection of the European Union (EU) to non-agricultural products’, a non-binding resolution was adopted at the European Parliament on the 6th October. The aim of the resolution is to call for an extension of the EU protection on geographical indication from agricultural products to include regionally and locally manufactured goods and handicraft products.
