Welcome to our new member: the Alliance of Italian Cooperatives

The Alliance of Italian Cooperatives (ACI) joined Euromontana few months ago.

ACI, in Italian Alleanza delle Cooperative Italiane, is the national co-ordination of the most representative associations of Italian cooperative movement (Agci, Confcooperative, Legacoop).

ACI forest sector consists of 350 cooperatives, with about 5,000 members and employees, with a turnover of 200 million €. The cooperatives operate throughout Italy, concentrating in mountain and protected areas, and play a very important role in forest management, non-timber forest products value chain, soil protection and natural disaster prevention and risk reduction. Cooperatives’ workers daily demonstrate a high level of professionalism in the field of silviculture, natural engineering, rural tourism.
ACI fully shares the mission of Euromontana particularly to improve rural economies and increase employment opportunities ensuring a long-lasting and growing human presence in mountain areas, in Italy threatened by depopulation.

Through the team of project developers, ACI will promote ideas and project proposals in Euromontana, to define strategies for sustainable development in mountain areas of Europe.
