Agreement on the new Common Agricultural Policy

The Commission, the Council and the European Parliament (EP) finally reached a political agreement on the reform of the Common Agriculture Policy yesterday, based on the Commission proposals from October 2011. The agreement relates to four basic European Parliament and Council regulations for the Common Agriculture Policy:

  • Direct payments.
  • The Single Common Market Organisation (CMO).
  • Rural Development.
  • Horizontal regulation.

As soon as the agreed text will be published, we will prepare a document with the important points for the mountain areas.

For more information you can read the press release and the explanation of the main elements developed by the European Commission.
