Every year the European Charlemagne Youth Prize is awarded to projects undertaken by young people that foster understanding, promote the development of a shared sense of European identity, and offer practical examples of Europeans living together as one community.
The aim of the prize, which is awarded by the European Parliament together with the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen, is to encourage the development of a European consciousness among young people and their participation in European integration projects.
The best project will be awarded with €5,000, the second €3,000 and the third €2,000. Furthermore, the 28 national winners will be invited to a four-day trip to Aachen (Germany).
The deadline for the submissions of projects is the 10th of February 2014.
