Euromontana communicated its position on revised regional aid guidelines

Euromontana responded on March 11th to the consultation organised by DG Competition of the European Commission on the draft revised regional aid guidelines. Our contribution comes in continuity with our work undertaken in 2011 and 2012 on this issue, and aiming at improving the recognition of mountain areas from the state aid point of view. Advocating an increase in the de minimis threshold for our areas, as well as an extension of sectors generally exempted, we also requested that mountain areas be considered in an adequate way compared to other handicapped areas, such as outermost regions and sparsely populated areas, which -rightfully- already benefit from a privileged status.
