Euromontana launches its competence matrix!

In the coming months, the European Commission will publish new calls of proposals under the 2021-2027 programming period, ranging across all programmes: Horizon Europe, LIFE, Interreg, Erasmus+ etc.

To help its members to better know the expertise available in the Euromontana’s network, do matchmaking and create strong partnerships for new proposals, the Secretariat of Euromontana has launched the competence matrix.

In particular, the compentence matrix will allow members to:

  • Discover members’ participation and experience in EU funded programmes (e.g LIFE, Horizon 2020, Interreg, Erasmus+)
  • Find the thematic expertise they need for future project proposals among Euromontana’s members, and detailed across 21 thematic categories (from agriculture to local development, entrepreneurship, climate change, social/digital innovation, biodiversity etc).
  • Learn about the technical expertise of Euromontana’s members as well as the tasks and activities that each member could perform in a new project proposal (from conducting research, pilot action, to dissemination and communication, exploitation, policy recommendations etc.)
  • Have access to contact information of the main person in charge in each of the member organisation.

The competence matrix is accessible via Euromontana’s project brokerage platform, another tool where our members can share new project ideas and have direct and interactive discussions for new proposals. The access of both tools is a privilege of Euromontana’s members and their use is restricted only to these organisations.

For more information on the platform and the competence matrix, please contact our Project Manager Carla Lostrangio.

For more information to become a member of Euromontana, please contact our Director, Marie Clotteau.

Today, Euromontana had the pleasure to take part in the journalist training course “Transizione ecologica nelle aree montane: biodiversità, cambiamento climatico e sviluppo sostenibile”, organised by Università della Montagna with the Ordine dei Giornalisti della Lombardia (the Lombardy Association of Journalists 📰)The course, bringing together 65+ participants, focused on how to better understand and report on ecological transition in mountain areas, from biodiversity and climate change to sustainable development ⛰️👉This matters because the way mountain areas are reported shapes the way they are understood and, ultimately, the way they are governed! We were pleased to join our member UNIMONT in this exchange. Prof. Anna Giorgi highlighted the need to change the way mountain areas are perceived, beyond fragility and marginality. Stefano Sala then showed how issues such as depopulation, winter tourism, climate change and public policy require a more nuanced reading of mountain realities 🔍 For Euromontana, Guillaume Corradino brought a European perspective to the discussion. He stressed that :1️⃣ mountains are not Europe’s margins, but diverse and complex living territories, and 2️⃣ stronger place-based policies and European cooperation are needed to move from recognition to implementation. Thanks again for the organization, the opportunity, and to all the participants 👏 ...
