The creation of a Rural Pact was announced in June 2021 in the EU’s Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas. The Rural Pact is designed to involve all levels, including national, regional, and local authorities. It aims at fostering interactions and mutual inspiration between all levels of governance and stakeholders on rural development and intends to encourage public authorities that have not yet designed a strategy and an action plan to address the challenges faced by rural areas to do so.
In June 2022, a launch conference was held in Brussels to engage rural development stakeholders in the process. During the event, our President Juanan Gutierrez highlighted how Euromontana can contribute to the Rural Pact.
